Backlinks are links from various websites that point to your website. They increase your websites ranking in
the search engines.
Are all backlinks equal?
No. Some backlinks are better than others.
What are nofollow and dofollow links?
Nofollow links tell the search engines not to use them. Though the search engines still give some credibility
to nofollow links, they don't have as much as dofollow links.
What if I just get the best backlinks all the time?
You need to get all kinds of backlinks. That will make your backlinking campaigns appear natural. If you get
all the same kind, Google may penalize your website. You need to have a mix of nofollow, dofollow, .gov,
.edu, and regular links.
.edu blogs are from colleges and universities. The search engines consider them special and give
backlinks from .edu sites more weight than regular websites.
What are .gov blogs?
.gov blogs are blogs that are on government websites. They may be local, state, or federal. Google gives
more weight to .gov websites than regular websites.
What are keywordluv blogs?
KeywordLuv blogs are blogs that use the KeywordLuv plugin. Most Wordpress blogs, they are by far the
most widely used blogging platform, provide comment links as nofollow by default. With the keywordluv
plugin, the links are do follow and allow you to link your keyword to your URL (website address).
